I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist accredited with the BABCP and have recently retired from working with NHS patients within an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies service. Prior to this I worked as a primary care mental health practitioner within the NHS.
I have considerable experience working with people with mental health issues including depression, low mood, loss and bereavement, stress, anxiety, worry, panic, social anxiety, phobias, OCD and post-traumatic stress disorder. However, you don’t need a formal diagnosis to work with a CBT therapist.
I am a qualified mental health nurse with 37 years’ experience in various health settings with people from many different backgrounds and cultures. I have regular supervision and undertake continuing professional development training in order to keep my practice up to date and relevant and to maintain my professional accreditation.
I have interest and experience in other psycho-therapeutic techniques including Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Walking Therapies. I try to maintain a regular Mindfulness practice for my own mental health and well-being.
If you think that CBT may help you to deal with your current issues, please feel free to get in touch either by e-mail or phone for an initial discussion. I will get back to you as soon as I can if I am not immediately available.
